So. We have reached the end of No Envy, No Fear. I confess, I am mourning just a little, because it was. Just. So. Damn. Good.
We were introduced to an amazing AU, courtesy of the ever so fabulous neaf, where society is a Dom/sub culture. Your placement in either group is determined on your 16th birthday where you are marked with a permanent tattoo based off of genetic markers that displays whether you are a Dom or a sub. A solid star for Dom, a hollow star for sub.
Doesn’t the whole premise just make you shiver a little in delight? So fantastic, so delicious, so addictive. I am a (self proclaimed) D/s fic aficionado and this was right up my alley. I was hooked from the moment neaf mentioned on her blog that she was even considering writing such a thing.
So, in NE,NF we find that the fabulous Kurt Hummel is, in fact, a Dom. He is still getting bullied by the jocks, who are Doms and take it personal that a guy of Kurt’s sexual preference is a Dom, too. But bullying is the worst thing they can do because he isn’t a sub to be commanded. So they make it their mission to make Kurt’s life as miserable as they can, while Kurt dreams of getting out of Ohio and finding not a sub, but a boyfriend. Nightly he is plagued by vivid and explicit dreams of someone that would belong to him. So in general, he is not exactly in a happy place when we meet him.
When Blaine Anderson comes into Kurt’s life, Kurt unloads on him with full barrel loads of sarcasm. Why, you ask? He is clad in a McKinley High letterman jacket. Sign of a jock. With Kurt’s defenses on full strength, he doesn’t notice that there is something different about Blaine. He isn’t full on and obnoxious, he isn’t threatening. He backs away from Kurt’s attitude but it’s obvious there is something different about Blaine. Our first real clue is when he helps Kurt up after he gets locker checked. Blaine’s star tattoo is two different colors. *cue dramatic music*
This brings us to Alignment day, where teenage subs declare themselves to a Dom of their choosing. Kurt is just ready for it to all be over. He doesn’t want to watch the drama of all his friends pairing up. And he certainly doesn’t think anyone would be choosing him. So imagine his surprise when Blaine, now sans jacket, approaches him to kneel and offer his hands for Kurt’s acceptance. Obviously, this was the last thing Kurt expected and disaster strikes when he throws his hands up in shock, which is actually how a declaration is refused. Whoops. So now we have Blaine in a huge dilemma. He has been humiliated in the most devastating way possible and has outed himself as not only gay, but a sub.
Well, hell, right?
Not so fast, my friends. Our neaf has a few tricks up her sleeve. Almost immediately, Kurt and Blaine get thrown together when Blaine becomes victim of a slushy attack. And Kurt is surprised to discover his Dom protective nature starts to make itself a little more apparent. He’s hit with huge urges to protect, and he begins a friendship with Blaine. Strangely enough, though, he can feel Blaine even though they aren’t bonded. Weird, huh? Who’da thunk it?
When Kurt finds the jocks essentially torturing Blaine by commanding him about to humiliate him, he does the first thing he can think of to protect his best friend. He drops to acceptance position, and this time when Blaine offers, Kurt gets it right.
I have already spoiled enough here, so I won’t give away more. Just know that the story follows our boys as they grow together as a claimed couple, starting off as friends and with a few misunderstandings along the way, just like any other relationship. It was a story that was beautiful and poignant. There was comedy, there was tragedy, there was Cooper and Jo. There was learning to love and trust, there was discovering not only themselves but each other and how to give of themselves to each other. All in all it was completely glorious, and again I will take a moment to compose myself because I am truly sorry it is over, yet I feel like it ended perfectly.
I would like to also take a moment to thank neaf for not only coming up with this story, but sharing it with the rest of us. She is a phenomenal writer, no two ways about it. The things her mind concocts simply amaze me and I am such a fan. Whether it is an AU based on Fight Club (Paper/Soap), an AU based on Enchanted (Once Upon…) or my personal favorite, an AU surrounding Rocky Horror Picture Show (Floorshow), everything she writes is magic. She pours herself into her stories and works very hard to put her work out for her readers. There were times where she was exhausted or unwell, yet she was apologizing to us for there being a short delay. She is always gracious with her time, making sure to answer questions asked and tagging them for easy reference. And even when she was subjected to people who were impatient, demanding, downright rude, or even hateful because of the subject matter and how she chose to write it, she was still always polite and diplomatic. I know I personally have invaded her Ask box on more than one occasion to flail, or say hello, or spout off some sort of nonsense, and each time she answers me kindly (and to my knowledge hasn’t blocked me or looked into a restraining order…).
So, I will end this now by saying again, thank you, neaf, for sharing yet again your amazing talent and ability to weave a story that for lack of a better term, was pretty much perfect. Now I hope you will take that time off you have been speaking of and get some well deserved rest. We support you and will be here when your next writing bug bites you. ❤❤❤
I hope you update AMOS soon fjnsmdkbd I need it. I needs to gets my sweet boy kisses on~
I know, I know! *cringe*
I have started on it and have the chapter plotted out. But I have been doing research for another fic that has been time consuming and had a few days where it just wasn’t in the cards for me to write. I hope to have it updated soon, but sadly I can’t give you an exact date. I really will try to not make you wait too terribly long. I like to think when I do get it completed it will have been worth the wait.
Kurt and Blaine have each other’s names written on their hands. Kurt is 15 and Blaine is 25. They’re both shocked at the age difference but they can also feel the connection soon after they meet. They agree to meet a few times for coffee so that they can get to know each other a little more.
“One of the best stories I’ve ever been told, um, I was told a story about a little boy with autism named Spence, who thinks when people are speaking in lower tones that means they’re mad at him, and so he really really relates to me and looks up to me because I have a high pitched voice so he thinks I’m happy all the time. And, um, that type of story, when you’re affecting people like that…I mean, how can you be mad at your voice when it’s affecting kids like that? I get a little choked up thinking about it.”—Chris Colfer (via alovesongforblaine)
You keep giving me reasons to adore you, Christopher…
Dalton is a school for Doms and McKinley is a school for subs. One of the first things a Dom will do upon meeting an unclaimed sub they find attractive is to hold them down or up against a wall from behind and hump them. It’s a way to establish dominance, to mark them with the Dom’s scent.
A/N: Yay, finished. I’ve posted the whole shebang to livejournal as a oneshot, and I’m definitely going to write more ficlets and oneshots in this verse (tagged with ‘fic: blind date’) I already have a bunch of ideas, and I’d love to hear any suggestions. Thank you all so much for reading. Bron <3
Kurt caught a brief glimpse of pale walls and dark furnishings as Blaine backed him into his bedroom, but the décor was the last thing on his roaring mind, Blaine’s broad hands framing his face as they continued to haphazardly kiss. Their feet kept tangling and they were barely managing to make their lips meet, glancing off centre and kissing each other’s jaws and chins more often than not.
Summary: Everybody already knows what they are before their marking day. You’re a Dom, or you’re a Sub, and it’s pretty easy to figure out which one you are once puberty hits and the hormones kick in.
But when Kurt Hummel is marked a Dom on his sixteenth birthday, nobody believes it. The jocks (all Doms themselves), irritated that they have no power over him, decide to make his life a living hell. But, Kurt figures, that’s just high school. It doesn’t change anything.
The only problem is, one of the jocks is a boy he doesn’t know. A boy he never sees, shy and hidden behind the others in a sea of letterman jackets.
Blaine Anderson is a Sub, but nobody knows it.
And he was just fine keeping it that way, until he saw Kurt Hummel.
Notes/Warnings: [NC-17] Warnings for bullying, adapted (non traditional) Dom/Sub themes, power play, hurt/comfort, bondage, and a lot of porn. Powerbottom!Dom!Kurt and Topping!Sub!Blaine. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.
ADDITIONAL: Chapter 15 went up earlier today, if you haven’t read it yet please read it prior to the epilogue. And that’s all she wrote! The fic is complete. A photoset will go up tomorrow, and the masterpost has been added to my sidebar.
Me:My OTP is the best thing that's ever happened to me
Me:My OTP is the worst thing that has ever happened to me I will drown in these tears did you see the way they looked at each other I think I'm having a panic attack I can't breathe my heart is not supposed to feel like this omg I think I am dying
do you ever feel like you like someone a lotmore than they like you and then start to feel like you’re just annoying them because while you always want to talk to them they probably don’t always want to talk to you and it stresses you out a lot and then you just start to feel really depressed about it
If your soulmate’s name is on your right hand, you’re a dom. If your soulmate’s name is on your left hand, you’re a sub.
When Blaine woke up on the morning of his 16th birthday, he found the name “Kurt Hummel” written on the palm of his left hand. He searches for his soulmate but doesn’t…
So for everyone asking me what I am reading, THIS fic has made me a very happy lady. The only problem I have found is that I reached the end of what’s available to read. But believe me when I say I am positively SWOONING over this story.
It is a WIP, so I know some may want to wait until it’s finished, but for any of you that want to pace and wait with me, jump in because the water is lovely…
Summary: Blaine is the most popular kid at school, he’s also a bully. Kurt is the new kid and the victim of the football team, but bullying somebody doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t end up liking them,…
